Corcoran MFA in Contemporary Art Practices Information Session

Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 5:00 PM until 5:45 PMEastern Standard Time UTC -05:00

We invite you to join us for an online information session and Q&A with Maria Del Carmen Montoya, Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies for our MFA in Contemporary Art Practices. Learn how our curriculum supports the development of new material and technical skills while encouraging experimentation with hybrid processes across media. Within our program, students investigate critical and creative relationships between content and form, deepen their understanding of art's social contexts, and pursue research-driven approaches that position contemporary practice as a vital site of creative, critical, and social action. Students may explore a wide range of approaches—from object-based work and studio practices intended for gallery exhibition to socially engaged art and community-centered projects. As part of this session, you'll have the opportunity to ask us any questions you might have about our program and the application process.
